From waste to added value. Did you know that rinsed packaging from agrochemical products –especially from HDPE plastic – is recycled into electrical cable sheathing? You are making a worthwhile contribution to a more sustainable world when you hand in the empty packaging for your plant protection products to AgriRecover, which organises its collection.
Free collections take place across all of Belgium at some 150 collection points, quite often at distributors. You can return rinsed packaging every year. For NUPPP (i.e. non-usable plant protection products) this is every two years, on odd-numbered years. Collection is carried out by authorised, independent waste processing companies.

To ensure the optimal collection and processing of all agrochemical packaging, numerous partners and members join forces. With ecological agriculture and a sustainable world as a shared goal, manufacturers of crop protection products and fertilizers, recycling centers, distributors of agricultural and horticultural products, and public authorities work together with farmers.

As a professional user, you are required to hand in primary packaging. These include containers, drums, aluminium foil and cardboard that come into direct contact with the product. For secondary packaging, such as boxes for multiple containers, there is no requirement to hand these in, but you can do so. Was a product spilt on it? That makes it primary packaging that must be handed in a bag for non-rinseable fractions.
When you sort fractions properly, you can hand it in for free. Otherwise, AgriRecover will have to charge on the costs to you:
For more than 25 years, AgriRecover has coordinated the collection of empty agrochemical packaging and used plant protection products from all professional users.
